This document contains important information regarding the use of ImageCenter LE. It is highly recommended that you read this document carefully before installing ImageCenter LE.

System Requirements

CPU

Pentium 4 or above

Main Memory

1024MB is required. (2048MB or more is recommended.)

Hard Disk Space

300MB or more of available hard disk space is required.

Supported Operating Systems

Windows 7 32-bit, Windows 7 64-bit, Windows Server 2008 R2 or later

- Before using BootCheck on a Hyper-V host in Windows Server 2008 R2, ensure that Microsoft.NET Framework version 4 or later is installed.

Limitations and Precautions

Basic Points

• The following versions of ActiveImage Protector do not support image files consolidated by using this product.
• Windows Edition：3.5.8 (SP6) or earlier
• Linux Edition：4.5.1 or earlier
• Images created using vmGuardian are not supported. When upgrading from ImageCenter 2.0/1.0, vmGuardian's images added in ImageCenter are not included in the image list.
• If an existing schedule created with ActiveImage Protector 3.5 SP6 meets the following conditions, the replication task created by selecting an image file located in the destination storage fails to run.
  
  • Both the [Offsite Replication] option and [Allow Consolidation at this replication target] option are enabled in AIP 3.5 SP6.
    * The same is true if upgraded to SP7 and by migrating the above schedules.
  Please disable the above options if upgraded to SP7 and migrating the above schedules, go to [Edit Schedule] and disable the option to overwrite the schedule settings.
• The following are the recommended option settings if combined with the AIP Linux 4.5.1 Replication options:
  
  • Allow Consolidation at this replication target: OFF
  • Policy　-　Only replicate new image files to this target: ON
• If the login credentials were changed using the [Change Credential] menu, a system restart is required for the changes to be applied.
• To complete upgrading of this product, a system restart is required upon completion of upgrade installation.
• The combined use of this product with ImageBoot 3 is supported.
• The use of [Add image folder] creates an invisible image managing folder in the added image storage folder. The image managing folder may be deleted by deleting the image folder on the image list or by deleting the image folder by selecting [Agent Settings] - [Image Folder]. Do not manually delete the image folder.

Dashboard

• A consolidated Image set may not be selected if the consolidated image set and the image files are located in the same folder. If so, please move the consolidated image files to a different folder.
• Double-clicking the [Run Now] button to start a scheduled task causes an error.
• Reducing the size of the console window may cause misalignment of the displayed items.
• Selecting Log ID in [Task Log] tab before sub-folder is created, you will get "-551" error. If you encounter this problem, please browse "log" folder located under Install folder.

Create / Edit Task

• Upon closing the dialog displayed when creation of a schedule ended with an error, the [Cancel] and [Back] buttons in the wizard become disabled.
  If this occurs, click the [x] button located in the upper right corner of the window to close the wizard.
• When editing replication target settings, a new Amazon S3-compatible storage provider cannot be added.

Verify

• If Verify task is executed concurrently with another task (Replication task, Consolidation task), Verify task is always prioritized to execute first.

Replication

• If WebDAV, Amazon S3 or Azure is selected for a Replication target, [Process Time] and the progress bar are the only real time progress information displayed for the Replication task execution.
  Also, the percentage of the completed processes remains unchanged from the start to the end of replication of the files. If multiple files are selected as the Replication source, then the progress bar makes gains for the percentage of processed images out of the total images only upon completion of the Replication task.
• If WebDAV, Amazon S3 or Azure is selected for a Replication target, the Pause/Resume task is disabled.
• If cancelling a Replication task, the task is cancelled only when the running task completes replication of the currently processed files.
• If a Replication task already exists and you right-click on an image in the list, the [Create Replication Task] in the context menu may not be grayed out.
• When the [Keep target item same with source] option is enabled, the replication target is synchronized with the replication source according to the schedule of the replication tasks.

Consolidation

• If cancelling a running consolidation task, the cancellation result of the task is not indicated on console.

BootCheck

• The system requirements (OS, Boot Type, etc.) for BootCheck feature conform to the requirements for Microsoft Hyper-V host to use.
• BootCheck supports image files taken of Windows XP/2003 or later created by using ActiveImage Protector for Windows Edition. BootCheck does not support the image files created by using ActiveImage Protector for Linux Edition.
• BootCheck does not support image files created in boot environments booted by using Linux-based Boot Environment media.
• BootCheck does not support image files taken of Windows 7 or later that do not include the active partition such as system reserved area.
• BootCheck does not support image files created for the system of which boot partition and system partition are configured on separate disks.
• Execution of BootCheck task runs as a single task, using about 1024MB memory.
• In the event that BootCheck task and Consolidation task are simultaneously executed, the execution of Consolidation task is always prioritized.
• Even when [If BootCheck task failed for the latest image, try the previously created image] option is enabled, this feature does not work if the result of BootCheck task was "Warning".
• When upgrading installation is performed in the environment where ImageBootTest task setting was configured, BootCheck task is executed when the computer is rebooted.

Remote Connection

• If the credentials are changed to communicate with a remote host after the connection to the remote computer is established, go to [Add New Agent] in the Agent List pane and re-establish the connection to the remote computer.
  
• If the connection to a remote agent is disconnected due to an unintentional reason such as restart of remote host, etc., the displayed information on the console is not automatically refreshed. If you perform an operation needing to obtain updated information from the connected agent such as clicking on an item on the image list, the disconnected agent returns a "-571 error".
• With remote connection to a different version of ImageCenter agent, some features become disabled. You are recommended to make sure that the ImageCenter agent installed locally and instances of agents which have been installed on other machines across the network are the same version.
• When connected target is changed, the displayed items may be duplicated. If you get this problem, please restart the console again.

Others

• Displayed information may not be refreshed. If this occurs, restart the console.
• If connection to an agent fails to establish, or too many images are listed, it may take time to display the information.
• If the ImageCenter console is started in low resolution environment, the console may not be displayed in proper size.
• When ImageCenter is started, IME may be disabled. There may be instances that this problem is resolved by displaying the language bar.

• If only the console is installed and then the console is restarted after a connection with a remote computer is established, a window is displayed to establish a connection to an agent.

• When upgraded from ImageCenter 2.0, the image list may not be correctly displayed. If this problem is encountered, please add the images to the image list again.
• As a result of the ActiveImage Protector Backup task with the Reconcile Image option enabled, the subsequently created incremental image file may be numbered back. Then, the image files already processed and numbered by using this product are not renumbered.
