Bare Metal Recovery of LVM

Follow these procedures for a bare metal recovery of an LVM.
The restore target system must be configured with the same number of hard disks as the backup source and has more available space than the volume size of the backup source.

·        Select the backup image created for the [LVM] device type as the restore source image. For more details on the procedures to select restore source image, please refer here.

·        Select a backup image for disk or VG.
Backup images of the disks and VG are collectively loaded at a time.

·        Click [Next >]. The following dialog is displayed.

·        Only a physical disk may be selected as restore target.

·        If VG is configured with PV which spans across multiple disks, please specify the restore target for all disks.

*Enabling the restore option is not required.

Please review the configured restore settings.

The following example is provided, assuming that VG is configured with PV which spans across multiple disks.

Ex: VG is configured with PV located in "/dev/sda" and "dev/sdb".

The setting summary is displayed as follows.

Select [Task] in [Dashboard] to monitor status and progress of processing task.

Upon completion of restoring the physical disk, ActiveImage Protector automatically proceeds with restoration of VG.
