- Implemented Auto Apply of the patch program in background.
- System restart is no more required upon completion of installation/uninstallation process.
* System restart is required upon completion of upgrading the program from 5.3.5 or earlier version.
- Before installing the product on Windows 7 or 2008 R2, please make sure KB4474419 is applied.
- VMware vSphere 7.0 is supported as the target host.
* Free license version of VMware vSphere Hypervisor 7.0 is not supported.
- The backup images in version [210] are supported.
- You can specify a destination folder instead of creating a shared folder on Hyper-V host. Every items required for a virtual machine are created in the specified folder.
- Virtual conversion of backup images of Linux LVM systems to VMware vSphere or Hyper-V target host failed. This issue was solved.
Corrections
- A defect in the image mount driver caused the system to hang while executing a task by selecting ESXi as the target host. This issue is corrected.
- Mount Image to ESXi target host is changed to use VMware method instead of the use of the self-developed driver.
- (9887) When ESXi is selected as the target host and [Always keep 1 boot point per each image set] option was selected, two boot points were retained. This issue is solved.
- Image file version [209] is supported.
Upgrade
- When upgraded, if you get the problem that the task terminates in error with Exit Code 4106, please recreate the task.
- French is added to supported languages.
- New feature is provided enabling to create VMDK/VHDX files in storage server.
- VMware vSphere 6.7 is now supported as the
target host.
- Improved Mount Image procedures.
- Released as Update Patch for vStandbyAIP 5.3.2. Before starting to install this update patch, please carefully read the following:
- The opened console window will be automatically closed when this patch is applied.
- After applying this patch, the current version of the product, console and agent will be the same unchanged.
- If backup source includes a 1TB or larger disk, the disk size is incorrectly calculated, and the task execution fails in error with Exit -246. This issue has been
resolved.
- When the "Only create most recent incremental
image boot point" option is disabled, the size of the virtual
snapshot image created is incorrect. This issue has been
resolved.
- (9264) Upon creation of multiple tasks,
SbyAipService.exe crashed. This issue has been resolved.
- Creating a standby virtual machine from a backup
image of a Linux LVM failed. This issue has been resolved.
- (9285) Creating a standby virtual machine from a
backup image of Linux multiple disks failed. This issue has been
resolved.
- Changed the error message displayed when the
task execution failed due to the change of a backup source disk
size.
- Selection of a generation for an image set is
enabled when adding an image file to the image list.
- In some cases a backup task was not executed on schedule but skipped. This issue was fixed.
Upgrade
- Boot point naming conventions have changed as of
this version.
Beginning with the first task execution after upgrading, the
existing boot points are processed as follows:
- All data are consolidated from the latest boot
point.
- The existing boot points are deleted so that the
standby VM is no longer bootable from those boot points.
In order to keep the standby VM bootable with the existing boot
points, the migrated schedules must be disabled. Or, keep the
standby VM but delete the existing boot points and configure the
schedule settings again.
Main New Features and Corrections
- The boot point name can be defined with
the date and time of the created backup file.
The boot point name was defined with the date and time that the
task was executed with vStandby 5.2.0 or earlier.
- (8936) The boot points created for the standby
VM on Hyper-V were previously incorrectly sorted. This issue has
been resolved.
- (8953) When the base image of the second
generation or later was virtualized, the temporary check points
were not deleted. This issue has been resolved.
- After virtualization of a backup image file of a
disk with multiple logical partitions, some of the disk
partitions format were changed to RAW. This issue has been
resolved.
- VMware vSphere 6.5 is now supported as the
target host.
- The image files copied by using software other
than ImageCenter LE are supported.
- E-Mail Notification has been enhanced to provide
the following.
- (8295) E-Mail Notification now provides license
status when the remaining licensed period dips below the
predefined threshold.
- GUI functionality has been enhanced.
- (8770) The placement of "E-Mail Notification" in
the Agent Settings has been changed.
- When reconciled images are included, execution
of the task failed. This issue has been resolved.
- (8922) Concurrent execution of multiple tasks
failed. This issue has been resolved.
- (8842) While creating a task,
SbyAipScheduler.exe failed with an application error. This issue
has been resolved.
- (8730) E-Mail notification of a daily task
summary failed to provide correct count of warnings. This issue
has been resolved.
- (8846) When editing [Options] in the [Create
vStandby Task] option, the number specified for [X] in the
[Always keep X boot points for each incremental image] option,
was always [30]. This issue has been resolved.
- (8927) Temporary files created during an upgrade
were not deleted. This issue has been resolved.
- (8904) When selecting the ESXi free license
version as the target host, adding a driver failed during the
"Virtualize" process. This issue has been resolved.
- (8735) The issue of an inordinately large
aip.log has been resolved.
- (8736) Stopping the vStandby AIP Service failed.
This issue has been resolved.
- (8639) Monthly schedule settings can now be
configured.
- The [One time only] option is not provided in
Schedule setting.
- The disk connected to the standby VM
automatically goes on-line.
- When the Hyper-V host on Windows Server 2008/
2008R2 is selected to use for the conversion target host, the
virtual switch option can now be selected.
- (8642) The following task execution results
alerted as "Warning".
- The task is skipped as the image is used by
another task.
- Since no new image is created at the scheduled
time, the task execution is skipped.
- (8650) P2V of Separated Images failed. This
issue has been resolved.
- (8680) Selecting to use the free license version
of ESXi for the target host, P2V conversion failed. This issue
has been resolved.
- Installation of vStandby AIP on Windows 7 and
Windows 2008R2 are now supported.
- Performance is improved when converting an image
file created using Deduplication Compression to a standby
virtual machine.
- The network adapter for a virtual machine
created on ESXi target host is changed to VMXNET 3.
- Multiple NICs and static IP addresses are
supported when a Hyper-V target host is specified.
- Changed the boot point name created on Hyper-V
target hosts.
- (8573) When converting backup files to snapshot
files on ESXi host, consolidation of snapshot was not properly
performed. This issue has been resolved.
- Windows 10 Anniversary Update is now supported.
After updating/upgrading to the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, a
re-install of the product is required.
- Windows Server 2016 is supported.
- An Enhanced Update feature to select non-current
update files has been added.
- A proxy server can be specified for the update
check.
- An Enhanced Explorer feature has been added.
- FIX: While keeping the console window open, the
(SbyAipService) service caused memory leak. This issue has been
resolved.
- FIX: (7887) Search for the vStandbyAIP agent
from Active Directory did not work. This issue has been
resolved.
- The status of a pending task is indicated as
"Pending" in [Status] column.
- FIX: (7400) Multiple tasks, if scheduled at the
same time, were not executed concurrently. This issue has been
resolved.
- FIX: (7401) After a task was created to use
VMware vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi) free license version for the
target host, if another task is created to use a Hyper-V target
host, the profile of the task defined with Hyper-V target host
is not correctly created. This issue has been resolved.
- FIX: (7402) In the event that both ActiveImage
Protector and vStandby AIP are installed in the same system
environment, while a task for Standby AIP is being executed, the
disk information was not obtained with ActiveImage Protector.
This issue has been resolved.
- FIX: (7403) When a task defined with Hyper-V
target host on local machine is created, creation of virtual
machine suspended. This issue has been resolved.
- (7370) Hovering the mouse cursor over the icons
on the side bar automatically display menu items.
- Hyper-V is supported for target host.
- Dynamically expanding and Fixed virtual disks
can be selected for creation.
- A task may be executed to create the boot point
with the latest incremental image.
- You can select Restore Point in One time Only
schedule setting.
- You can select an image file from the [Create
Task] window.
- An arrow button is provided to go upper node in
the [Select Image File] window.
- The product can be activated over a network via
proxy server.
- FIX: (6742) OS version information in log file
was incorrect if using Windows Server 2012 R2 environment. This
issue has been resolved.
- FIX: (6896) When schedule settings were edited
by selecting a day of week, the changes were not correctly
applied. This issue has been resolved.
- FIX: (5945) SbyAipService.exe crashed due to
binding to port error. This issue has been resolved.
- FIX: (6296) The following errors were recorded
in Windows Event Log. This issue has been resolved.
Event ID: 1000, Task Category:(100), Faulting application
name : SbyAipScheduler.exe
- Configuration of multiple network adapters is
now supported.
- ESXi Free License version is now supported.
- One time only scheduling is now supported.
- Cold image backups (Backup image files created
by Linux or WinPE-based Boot Environment) are now supported.
- FIX: The console size and position settings can
now be saved.
- FIX: Connecting to a incorrect Auto update
server fails. This issue has been resolved.
- Enhanced GUI appearance.
- FIX: With [Purge all logs now] option enabled,
the associated files were not purged. This issue has been
resolved.
- FIX: In the event of network failure, scheduled
tasks did not start on [Immediate] execution after network
failure occurred. This issue has been resolved.
- FIX: If the folder name specified for the
destination to save image files includes a double-byte
character, scheduled tasks did not start on [Immediate]
execution or [After each x new image files]. This issue has been
resolved.
