- VMware vSphere 7.0 U1 is now supported.
- Actiphy Authentication Service (AAS) is supported.
* When applying this patch, the software activation via ActiveVisor will be disabled. You need to deploy AAS in the environment where ActiveVisor is used for the software activation.
* When AAS operates in Server Mode, please apply this patch before starting to create a license bundle file.
- You can now select an image type to configure the settings for event-triggered backup.
- Boot Environment (Windows PE) builder is enhanced in the method.
* When building Boot Environment from the installed product, you can build Boot Environment of the same bit version as the system's OS only.
Fixed Issues
- When restoring a backup image of a specific Hyper-V VM (the first generation VM of Linux OS) created by using HyperBackup, kernel panic occurred on the restored system.
- When the settings for a schedule type are configured for base backup image and only event-triggered backup option is enabled, an incremental backup is created when system shutdown / reboot occurred.
- When using vStandby, backup of a partition assigned with no GUID failed.
- An expiration date is indicated for the Date of Activation in Version Information.
- When shutting down Windows, Event ID 7043 Error was recorded.
- When using Remote Control feature and reconnecting to the local host after creating HyperBack task, the local host setting window is not displayed until ActiveImage console is restarted.
- In some cases, the service hangs up and uninstallation process stops.

Added / Updated Features
- A backup Wizard for CSV volumes is now included
in AIP Cluster Edition. By configuring backup agents as backup
nodes on every cluster node, even when fail-over from the backup
node to the other node takes place, incremental backup chains of
the CSV volumes are maintained on the other node.
* A backup task runs on the backup node with ownership of the
backup source CSV volumes.
- BootCheck is now available in Cluster Edition.
- Server Edition now supports concurrent backup of
CSVFS volumes and volumes formatted with other file systems.
* A backup task runs on a backup node regardless of the
ownership of the backup source CSVFS volumes.
- Replication post-backup tasks now support the
following:
- Replication from Amazon EC2 to AmazonS3 via end
point.
- Replication to Cloud storage using proxy.
Fixed Issues
- Fixed: Execution of a BootCheck task always
resulted in "Exit Code 0"
- Fixed: In some scenarios, a profile would become
corrupted when editing a post-backup task.
- Fixed: When configuring specific settings for a
Consolidation post-backup task, error logs would be recorded
repeatedly if a consolidation source image was mounted.
- Fixed: A restore volume from the backup image of
dual-disk configured on FT server failed.

Fixed Issues
- Backup of a partition assigned with no GUID
failed.
- CHNK message occurs in incremental backup
process of a large-capacity volume.
- Incremental backup of large-capacity volume
requires high consumption of memory, and, as a result, causes
system hang-up.
- When editing HyperBack schedule settings
configured by enabling Deduplication Compression feature and
migrated from Update 6 or earlier version, the subsequently
executed task fails.
- Whille exporting schedules, AipControl.exe might
crash.

- Released as an "Update 7" for ActiveImage
Protector 2018 Update Server/Desktop Edition, Cluster Edition,
HyperAgent Edition. This version offers long-term support.
* When upgrading from Update 6 or an earlier version, the
process may take longer.
* When push-upgrading from Update 6 or earlier version, please
push-uninstall the program before starting push-upgrade.
- This and the later versions of Server/Desktop
Edition, Cluster Edition supports the following operating
system.
- Windows 7 (x86/x64) or later versions of Windows
Desktop OS, Windows Server 2008 R2 or later versions of Windows
Server OS
* Windows Server 2008 is not supported.
Added / Updated Features
- The incremental backup process now uses the CBC
(Changed Block Comparison) method instead of the sector tracking
method.
* CBC uses differential backup process to create an incremental
backup of FAT/FAT32, ReFS formatted volumes.
- The incremental backup of CSVFS volumes is
supported.
- Backup image file compression performance is
improved.
- If the configured settings are migrated when
upgrading the product, the migrated settings are saved by
version.
- BootCheck process speed on Hyper-V on remote

- The eject option is improved for RDX cartridge

*This option is enabled only when the product is
activated with the RDX product key.

- The backup image file version has been updated
to [210].
- If ActiveImage Protector for Windows is
installed on the source system to run Virtualization, vStandby,
HyperRestore, HyperStandby, scheduled tasks are disabled on the
created/converted virtual machine.
* ActiveImage Protector service is set to [Auto] start on
virtual machines.
- System restart is no more required upon
completion of installation/uninstallation process.
* When upgraded from Update 6 or earlier version, a system
restart is required.
- [Dashboard] - [Schedule] provides HyperBack task
management capabilities.
- Implemented Auto Apply of the patch program in
background.
Fixed Issues
- Installer
- Extracting files failed in error in the
upgrade/installation process.
- If an uninstall/upgrade was performed during
execution of a task, the task might not normally complete but
fail.
- After installing the product including the
backup agent on Windows 7 (x64) or Windows Server 2008 R2 in
which the KB4474419 is not applied, the system enters recovery
mode after rebooting.
* Before installing the product on Windows 7 (x86/x64), 2008R2,
please make sure KB4474419 is applied.
- Backup
- If a scheduled incremental backup task is
started, before a base image was created, the incremental backup
task failed in error.
- If the [Make backup image file P2V ready] option
was enabled and the base backup task was executed, boot settings
for the ActiveImage Protector Service was set to manual start.
- Incremental backup of CSVFS failed in Error
-601.
- After new installation of the product, when a
schedule is created, the forthcoming schedule is indicated as
"N/A" and the task was not correctly started on the scheduled
time/date.
- Event-triggered backups did not correctly behave
on Windows 10 Home, and the backup task did not start upon
system shutdown or restart.
- While running a task, ActiveImage Protector
services crashed in some rare cases.
- A task, when started, might fail in Error -572.
- Restore
- When executing a Recovery by Volume task in
Windows PE-based boot environment, 0xc0000225 error occurred and
Windows system failed to boot.
- HyperBack
- Extracting initrd, initram in virtual conversion
script would not be performed normally.
- HyperStandby
- When a schedule setting was edited, the task
corrupted.
- BootCheck
- When executing the BootCheck task and the system
entered repair mode, the BootCheck task completed in successful
status.
- Replication
- In the event of an access error to the specified
service while replicating the backup images to cloud storage,
and the connection was reestablished, the replication process
was restarted from the beginning.
- Replication of large volume data to Amazon S3
failed in error.
- File Recovery(HyperAgent)
- When "$AIPMAP.CBT" is included in the backup
file, Unmount Image failed and File Recovery from a different
backup image was disabled.
- vStandby
- Network information was not displayed.
- Others
- When the system restarted, the ActiveImage
Protector Service hang-up was recorded in Windows Event Log in
some cases.
- With a massive amount of task logs, while
scrolling the task log window in Dashboard, the console became
unresponsive.
- While running a HyperBack task, if the same
destination storage was accessed from HyperBack or another
wizard, the running task failed in Error -559.

- A backup image created by selecting the backup
type [LVM] by using Linux Edition can be used to configure iSCSI
target.
- CentOS-based BE version is updated from "7.4" to
"7.7".
- Virtual Conversion, vStandby, HyperRestore,
HyperStandby features are enhanced as follows:
- You can specify a destination folder instead of
creating a shared folder on Hyper-V host. Every item required
for a virtual machine are created in the specified folder.
- When ActiveImage Protector Windows Edition is
installed on the conversion source system, a scheduled task does
not start on the created virtual machine.
* ActiveImage Protector service is set to [Manual] start on the
virtual machine.
* Please remember that the scheduled task is executed when
ActiveImage Protector Linux Edition is installed.
- CSVFS volume may be selected for a mount point
when using Virtual Conversion, vStandby, HyperRestore,
HyperStandby features.
Fixed Issues
- Change tracking driver.
- STOP Error 0x00000050
occured.
- Failed to open
C:\$AIPMAP.CBT Level=ERROR [5] occurred.
- Some changed sectors
were not included if Windows Update was installed before
executing incremental backup task.
- Backup
- Execution of an incremental backup task for the
system in mirror-configured dynamic disks to create incremental
backup files in md format failed in Error -603.
- Upon starting, a backup task might fail in Error
-571.
- Upon completion of a task, the subsequently
scheduled task might be suspended.
- When enabling Encryption option (AES128/256), if
the defined password is not long enough, an unknown error
occurs.
- Replication
- Replication of 15GB or larger backup image file
to Azure failed.
- When selecting Amazon S3 as the replication
target and enabling [Keep target items same with source] option,
the files deleted at the replication source are not deleted from
the replication target.
- CentOS BE
- When restoring 10TB or larger backup image file,
you encounter out of memory error and the recovery environment
hangs up.
- When restoring 10TB or larger backup image file,
the restore task fails in Error -405.

- A backup image created by selecting the backup
type [LVM] by using Linux Edition can be used to configure iSCSI

- Implemented the feature for avoiding conflicts
with Windows Update during backup process.
* Windows Update service is suspended when backup process starts
and resumed upon completion of backup process.
- Mount driver is loaded only when using a
required feature.
* The loaded mount driver will remain until the next system
restart.
Fixed Issues
- IT Pro Edition, when started in the environment
where IT Pro Creator is installed, will connect to IT Pro
Creator service.
- When shutting down / restarting the system while
IT Pro Edition is running, NJISCSIService remains as registered
in the system and becomes disabled.
- When enabling Encryption option (AES128/256), if
the defined password is not long enough, an unknown error
occurs.
- Upon starting, a backup task might fail in Error
-571.
- When the comment exceeding the specified length
is entered, the comment is not configured for the image.

- Replication feature, a post-backup process, is
enhanced as follows:
- Replication to Amazon S3 without using AWS CLI
is supported.
- Data transfer speed to FTP is improved.
- The replication target setting is improved.
Browsing the path for the replication target to access the
specified server or cloud service can now be performed. New
folders when configuring the settings for the replication target
can now be created.
- "WebDAV-https" or "WebDAV-http" for WebDAV
protocol can be selected.
- The progress bar has been implemented for
real-time monitoring of the replication process to Amazon S3 or
Azure.
- Pause / Resume can now be selected during the
replication process to Amazon S3 or Azure.
- Virtual conversion option for Linux LVM systems
is now availabe for HyperBack advanced settings.
- The calculation method for the minimum size of a
restore target volume or available space for reduced volume
recovery has been updated.
Fixed Issues
- Backup/HyperBack
- No warning message was displayed when a
specified password using an unsupported character set was used.
- The subsequently scheduled backup task failed in
error after selecting [Un-assign drive letter from Local Hard
Disk post backup] for [Destination Isolation Option]. This was
caused because the drive letter was not re-assigned before
starting the subsequently scheduled backup task.
- HyperBack incremental backup of a Hyper-V
virtual machine satisfying the following conditions using RCT
failed in Error-603:
- ISO is mounted on DVD drive.
- Multiple number of virtual HDDs are connected to
the system after DVD drive.
- HyperRestore/HyperStandby
- The following issues occurred when using backup
images of a physical environment created with AIP Linux Edition.
- When restoring a backup image of Linux LVM
system to ESXi host, you got NIC error and failed to run the
task.
- When restoring / converting a backup image of
Linux LVM system to Hyper-V host, a NIC error occurred and the
system failed to boot up.
- When using HyperStandby, the changes in an
incremental backup made for a Linux LVM system were not
reflected to the standby VM.
- When restoring / converting a backup image of
LVM EFI system in CentOS/RHEL 6.x to an ESXi host, the system
failed to boot up.
- In some cases when restoring / converting a
backup image to ESXi host, the settings for SCSI controller were
not correctly configured and the system of the restored /
converted virtual machine failed to boot up.
- When the process completed, AIX remained in the
destination of the backup images.
- When using HyperRestore and restoring a virtual
machine to an ESXi host, if Windows OS is selected to configure
the OS setting, the virtual hard disk was connected to the IDE
hard drive.
- When using HyperStandby, a VHD file created by
selecting "Hyper-V 2008R2 (VHD)" on the storage server failed to
boot up.
- Replication
- When SFTP/FTP was selected, the sub-folder
option, even if enabled, did not work.
- When replicating the files to Azure, the
processed size was indicated as "0.00GB" in the task log.
- Virtual Conversion
- In certain cases, converting a backup image to a
virtual machine on an ESXi host, the settings for OS/disk
controller were not configured correctly as specified for the
converted virtual machine.
* The settings for the disk controller with this version cannot
be configured . The disk controller is specified depending on
the OS selected. The Linux OS is not supported for selecting for
the OS setting. Conversion to a Linux system is not supported.
- When the process completed, AIX remained in the
destination of the backup images.

- The time-out and the maximum time to wait for a
backup task to complete the backup process can be specified.
- If a backup image is created as a result of the
Reconcile process, it will be recorded in task log. An option is
provided to save a backup image file instead of deleting.
- When the [Auto run if a scheduled task is
missed] option is enabled and if both base and incremental
backup images are skipped, an option is offered for prioritizing
the execution of the base backup task.
- For Volume Recovery, an additional option is
provided for ignoring a checksum error occurred with a backup
image and continuing the process.
- Image Manager now includes the BootCheck feature
to execute for a specified backup image file.
- The HyperAgent Edition is enhanced as follows.
- The process time for a virtual machine search
for HyperBack is now shortened.
- HyperBack now provides [Advanced Settings] for
configuring general settings and implementing scripts to run.
- The information of hypervisors to use for
HyperBack can be managed in Preferences.
- Linux, can now be selected as the OS type to
restore as a new virtual machine by using HyperRestore feature.
- HyperStandby supports Linux as the OS type for
HyperBack image (agentless backup image).
- The Dashboard provides improved display of the
information for HyperAgent.
- Activation will successfully complete, even if
there is substantial time-lag between the system clock of the
local computer and the activation server at the moment of
activation.
- Improved the configuration method for iSCSI
Server.
Fixed Issues
- Backup
- When setting scripts to run before and after a
snapshot was taken and if VSS retry occurred, the script was
re-executed according to the VSS retry and the task failed with
-321 error.
- Backup tasks scheduled with [Designate Specific
Days] did not work properly.
- HyperStandby
- When the backup image of an LVM system created
with AIP Linux Edition was used, the task failed.
- Others
- A backup image including a large volume of data
around 10TB was not successfully mounted.
- When using the Image File Explorer and browsed
in a backup image including a large amount of folders, the
folders of more than 100 were not displayed.
- Clicking [Schedule] in [Dashboard] and editing a
schedule, [Designate a separate image file set per disk] option
was selected.

specified target VM, on a CSV cluster, was moved to another node
in the cluster.
- Backup task for Hyper-V VMs that contained
virtual disks using the same file name did not properly execute.
- vStandby
- After Update 2 patch was applied, creation of
virtual standby replicas may have failed.
- If a virtual standby replica was created from
Windows 10 1903 on a Hyper-V host incremental boot point
creation failed in a -701 error.
- Others
- After changing the port number for ISCSI target
server, the change did not apply correctly.
- Windows Update Service
- Handle leak occurred in AIPService process.

- Scheduled backup tasks did not run properly on
the system on which the time zone was adjusted based on daylight
savings time.
- ActiveImage Protector did not automatically run,
within one hour the scheduled tasks skipped while the Windows
Update was running.
- HyperBack
- Incremental backup of a Hyper-V virtual machine
failed in -603 error, when the hard drive was attached to SCSI
controller added under certain conditions.
* If updated from Version 2018 Update2, please
configure the backup schedule settings for the virtual machines
again.

- With more than one NIC, in some cases only one
IP address was listed in iSCSI target server.

- This release is considered to be “Update 2” for
ActiveImage Protector 2018 Server (Desktop Edition, Cluster
Edition, and HyperAgent Edition).
Added /Updated Features
This release enhances the BootCheck feature as
follows:
- Stability
improvements.
- Users can
now run BootCheck against multiple agents using a specified
Hyper-V host.
- Users
can now run BootCheck concurrently on multiple virtual machines
in the HyperAgent Edition of ActiveImage Protector.
- A specific disk from a backup image can now be
selected to serve as an iSCSI target server.
- A Windows-PE-based boot environment can now be
built using the Windows ADK (version 1903) for Windows 10.
The following tools are required:
- Deployment Tools which are
included in the Windows ADK for Windows 10.
- Windows Preinstallation Environment
(Windows PE), which is included in the Windows PE
add-on for Windows ADK.
- vStandby now supports VMware vSphere vCenter
Server and the ESXi 6.7 hypervisor.
NOTE: The free version of VMware vSphere Hypervisor
6.7 is not supported.
- The VSS Settings in the Advanced
Backup Options screen have been improved for Agent-based
Backups.
- The Backup using Deduplication
Compression feature now supports the -9999 error in
the Debug Log.

- The event triggered by shutting down Windows 10
(May 2019 update 1903) is now being displayed correctly.
- ActiveImage Protector now skips scheduled tasks
if Windows Update is running to ensure the stability of the
backups.
- SQLServer is now automatically detected when
ActiveImage Protector is run in VSS component mode.
- HyperBack
- ActiveImage Protector no longer leaves old
device data behind when backing up VMs running on MS Hyper-V
with MS Volume Shadow Copy (VSC) enabled.
- This release fixes an issue where some VM's on
ESXi hosts were not getting backed up correctly.
- Backup tasks no longer fail with an Error-630.
- Recovery
- This release fixes an issue where restored
volumes were not always allocated correctly.
- This release fixes an issue where Volume
Recovery task failed with "open file failed Level=ERROR [5]" and
"CreateIndexIOChunkFile failed Level=ERROR [5]" error.
- This release fixes an issue where file Recovery
was not processed properly and Error: 144 (0x00000090) was
recorded in robocopy Log.
- BootCheck
- BootCheck no longer fails when
running against Hyper-V hosts where Portal is selected on the
Windows iSCSI Initiator.
- iSCSI Target Server
- This release fixes an issue where removing one
iSCSI target from a multi-target configuration would render all
the iSCSI targets inaccessible.

- This release fixes an issue where mounting a
certain number of volumes from a backup image could cause the
system to become unstable.

The use of this feature enables you to back up virtual machines
running on Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware vSphere host machines
without the need for installing the agents on the virtual
machines respectively.
* HyperAgent feature is available with HyperAgent Basic and
HyperAgent Enterprise licenses only.
- Added iSCSI Target Server feature.
This feature allows users to serve backup image files as iSCSI
targets which can be accessed via ISCSI initiators.
- Added Virtualization adaptor feature.
This feature is designed to inject drivers for virtual machine
booting into backup image files thereby virtualize the image
file.
- Added Destination Isolation technology.
This feature reduces potential malware or ransomware attacks by
disconnecting access to backup image storage locations after
backups complete.
- Backup options are additionally provided when
RDX is specified for the destination storage to save backup
images.
* These backup options are available with the dedicated license
only.
- The following advanced options are added for the
agent-based backup.
- Option to add the drivers required for
