Installation of the required modules using the script provided in the product's media

Required module installation for setting up the product

Before setting up the product, please make sure that the required modules, i.e., libstdc++.i686, libuuid.i686 or glibc.i686 is installed.
The following are the detailed installation procedures:
If you have any inquiry about the installation procedures, please contact your system administrator.

Use "yum" command to install the package

  1. Run the following command in the environment where external network connection is available and “yum” command is executable.
    If you install libuuid.i686 and glibc.i686 packages, run the following command.

#yum install libuuid.i686

Error: Protected multilib versions: libuuid-2.17.2-12.7.el6_3.i686 != libuuid-2.17.2-2.7.el6.x86_64
You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest

If you get the error message as indicated above and the installation fails, you may need to have the consistent version with libuuid.x86_64 package.
Then, the use of the following command may solve the problem.

#yum install libuuid.x86_64

In the event that you encounter the same sort of error upon installation of the other packages, please install (update) x86_64 package , then install the package again.


  1. To install libstdc++.i686 package, run the following command.

#yum install libstdc++.i686


Use "rpm" command to install the package

To install rpm package using Linux OS setup DVD:


  1. Select "Packages" folder in Linux OS setup DVD (vol. 1).
    To install libuuid.i686 and glibc.i686 packages, run the following command.
    * The package names indicated below are provided as an example. Please change the file name according to the version of the package you actually install.

#rpm -ivh libuuid-2.17.2-12.7.el6.i686.rpm glibc-2.12-1.80.el6.i686.rpm nss-softokn-freebl-3.12.9-11.el6.i686.rpm


  1. To install a package for libstdc++.i686, run the following command.

#rpm -ivh libstdc++-4.4.6-3.el6.i686.rpm libgcc-4.4.6-3.el6.i686.rpm


Required module installation to use GUI

To use GUI, the modules for zlib.i686, libxcb.i686, libXrender.i686, libXext.i686, libXau.i686, libX11.i686, libSM.i686, libICE.i686, glib2.i686, freetype.i686, fontconfig.i686, expat.i686 are required to be installed.
The following are the detailed installation procedures:

  1. In the environment where external network connection is available and “yum” command is executable, please run the following command.
    To install glib2.i686 package, run the following command.

#yum install glib2.i686

Error: Protected multilib versions: glib2-2.26-1-7.i686 != glib2-2.26-1-7.x86_64
You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: rpm -Va nofiles --nodigest
If you get the above message and installation fails, you may need to have the consistent version with libuuid.x86_64 package.
Then, use of the following command may solve the problem.

#yum install glib2.x86_64

  1. To install libX11.i686 package, run the following command.

#yum install libX11.i686


  1. To install fontconfig.i686 or expat.i686 package, run the following command.

#yum install fontconfig.i686


  1. To install freetype.i686 package, run the following command.

#yum install freetype.i686


  1. To install zlib.i686 package, run the following command.

#yum install zlib.i686


  1. To install libICE.i686 package, run the following command.

#yum install libICE.i686


  1. To install libXrender.i686 package, run the following command.

#yum install libXrender.i686


  1. To install libXext.i686 package, run the following command.

#yum install libXext.i686


  1. To install libSM.i686 package, run the following command.

#yum install libSM.i686


You can collectively run above commands.
Then, please run the commands as follows:

#yum install libX11.i686 glib2.i686 fontconfig.i686 freetype.i686 zlib.i686 libICE.i686 libXrender.i686 libXext.i686 libSM.i686


Use "rpm" command to install the package

To install rpm package using Linux OS setup DVD:


  1. Select "Packages" folder in Linux OS setup DVD (vol. 1).
    To install libX11.i686, libxcb.i686, libXau.i686 packages, run the following commands.
    * The package names indicated below are provided as an example, please change the file name according to the version of the package you actually install.

#rpm -ivh libX11-1.5.0-4.el6.i686.rpm libxcb-1.8.0-4.el6.i686.rpm libXau-1.0.6-4.el6.i686.rpm


  1. To install zlib.i686 package, run the following command.
    (Please run this command to install before installing glib2.)

#rpm -ivh zlib-1.2.3-29.el6.i686.rpm


  1. To install glib2.i686 package, run the following command.

#rpm -ivh glib2-2.26.1-3.el6.i686.rpm gamin-0.1.10-9.el6.i686.rpm libselinux-2.0.94-5.3.el6_4.1.i686.rpm


  1. To install fontconfig.i686, expat.i686, freetype.i686 packages, run the following command.

#rpm -ivh fontconfig-2.8.0-3.el6.i686.rpm expat-2.0.1-11.el6_2.i686.rpm freetype-2.3.11-14.el6_3.1.i686.rpm


  1. To install ibICE.i686, libSM.i686 packages, run the following command.

#rpm -ivh libICE-1.0.6-1.el6.el6.i686.rpm libSM-1.2.1-2.el6.i686.rpm


  1. To install libXrender.i686 package, run the following command.

#rpm -ivh libXrender-0.9.7-2.el6.i686.rpm


  1. To install libXext.i686 package, run the following command.

#rpm -ivh libXext-1.3.1-2.el6.i686.rpm

Installation of the required modules using the script provided in the product's media

The respective packages need to be installed before setting up ActiveImage Protector.
The use of this script automatically installs the required packages.

If your system is internet-connected, the required packages will be installed by adding yum repositories.

If your system is not internet-connected, you need to use Linux OS set-up DVD.
The yum repositories are added from the Linux OS set-up DVD.
Then, the required packages will be installed by yum repositories added from the Linux OS set-up DVD.

Note
As for CentOS 7, the required packages are included in "Everything ISO".
Please make sure you have "Everything ISO".
As for CentOS 5.7 or eairly versions, only a couple of CD media are provided (DVD media are not provided), therefore, this script does not correctly behave.

How to use

  1. Login as root.
  1. Save the script which is in [utilty] folder in the product's media into any directory.
  1. Grant permission to execute the script.

# chmod +x pre_pkg_install

  1. Run the pre_pkg_install in the terminal.
