Restoring or removal of devices set for incremental backups.

When restoring or removing a device that is set to run an incremental backup with this product, please do the following.
The following problems may occur if you don't follow these procedures.

• Cannot remove the device from the target system.
• Restore operation terminate with error ［-231］
• After restoring data is not correct updates on the device.

Procedure

1. Restore, delete the backup schedule that contains the device to be removed.
2. From the console run the following commands.

# /etc/aipsnap status --detail
→ The tracking information will be displayed like below.
aipsnap-1.0.2-329 is running

Snapshot activated

Enabled Snapshots

Enabled Trackers
    tr2 /dev/sdc1 /dev/loop2

Incremental Configured Devices
    /dev/sdc1
# /etc/aipsnap disable_tracker <device name>
→ The corresponding device to be removed.

3. Restore or remove the device that you deleted the tracking information from.
